Did you know?…A child who reaches age 21 without smoking, abusing alcohol, or using drugs is virtually certain never to do so.

Prevention by Meridian’s purpose is to educate our community on the facts of drugs and alcohol abuse, stopping drug and alcohol abuse and other dangerous behaviors before they start. Meridian is committed to building a drug-free future for our children!

It is also very important to us to constantly raise awareness in the community about issues related to drug and alcohol abuse — in particular, reducing misconceptions about who it affects and providing information about resources available to those in need.

PANDA LEADERS CLUB
PANDA empowers kids and teens by giving them the knowledge to make responsible decisions about the issues that affect them most today. Through peer support, they are encouraged to lead a healthy lifestyle, make positive choices and be comfortable with themselves. They also are leaders in their schools, forming action plans to address the areas of greatest need.

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT SERVICES
As part of the overall continuum of services for adolescents, Meridian offers prevention services that speak to the issues affecting them the most today — including drug and alcohol use, depression, bullying and suicide.

Stopping these problems before they start is a primary goal of Meridian Community Care. Knowledge and education are the keys, and our prevention programs focus on two fronts: youth, and the community as a whole.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Meridian is the expert in the area of addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery. Meridian’s staff, which comprises doctors, nurses, professional counselors and social workers, is highly educated and trained. Because of these education levels, as well as the years of experience our staff has contributed, Meridian is able to present challenging and difficult subject matter to the community. Meridian staff is always available to discuss different topics with organizations throughout the area. We will continue to educate, enlighten, and motivate our community.
